Purpose · Core frameworkCoactualismThe worldview that makes individual and collective self-actualization a central purpose of civilization.

It brings education, economics, governance, culture, technology, and the built environment into a shared undertaking: helping people develop worthwhile capacities and use them to enrich life together.

Its characteristic question is: What kinds of people and lives does this system help make possible?

Purpose · Core purposeCoactualizationThe reciprocal process through which people develop through relationships, opportunities and institutions, while society develops through their capabilities and contributions.

A mentor helps a learner develop a skill, and that learner eventually contributes knowledge, work, or mentorship to others.

Coactualism names the framework; Coactualization names the process and aim.

Purpose · Normative commitmentPrime Directive / Psychosocial OptimizationThe organizing priority of advancing the development of people and the social conditions shaping their lives.

“Psychosocial” joins the psychological—character, agency, understanding, purpose—with the social—relationships, trust, culture, and institutions.

A more productive economy matters partly because of the lives it enables. Optimization here remains a multidimensional ethical ambition, not an established formula that resolves every conflict among human goods.

Philosophical horizon · Core ethicSublime IndividualismThe ethic joining individuality, ambition, personal responsibility, and self-mastery with mutual responsibility.

Society should cultivate distinctive people; individuals should contribute to the conditions enabling others’ development.

An orchestra captures the relationship: each musician develops a particular excellence, and the shared achievement depends on those differences being expressed with discipline and attention to others.

Primary conceptual home: Überhumanism.

Purpose · Core explanatory conceptEcosystem of ActualizationThe relationship among three sources of development: personal effort and self-understanding; interpersonal guidance and support; and institutions that provide opportunities and reduce barriers.

A person’s talent can remain dormant when any of these is missing. This concept explains why Coactualism gives responsibilities to both the individual and society: effort needs opportunity, and opportunity needs participation.

Purpose · Core orientationPragmatic EutopianismThe commitment to ambitious social improvement through workable institutions, evidence, experimentation, and revision.

An inspiring vision gives direction; practical results determine whether a particular intervention deserves continuation.

The distinctive emphasis is on constructing better conditions step by step while retaining a larger civilizational purpose.

Purpose · Proposed methodCoactualist DialecticThe approach of examining rival positions for what each gets right, identifying their limitations, and developing a synthesis oriented toward flourishing.

Examples include individual freedom and social responsibility, equal developmental opportunity and differentiated achievement, or technological power and ethical purpose.

This calls for a reasoned resolution of tensions. A compromise halfway between two positions is not automatically a sound synthesis.

Philosophical horizon · Philosophical horizonÜberhumanismThe philosophical and spiritual ethos of conscious self-overcoming: people and humanity can cultivate greater understanding, creativity, virtue, autonomy, and responsibility.

It connects individual development to the larger development of life and civilization.

Its distinctive move is to make the cultivation of exceptional human possibilities a shared civilizational undertaking. Its evolutionary and cosmic interpretations belong to the philosophy’s account of meaning; they are not established scientific predictions of a predetermined destiny.

Philosophical horizon · Symbolic philosophyPrometheismThe ethical and mythic expression of developmental ambition through Prometheus as a symbol of foresight, creative courage, knowledge and contribution to humanity.

Politically, “giving fire” means making developmental power available through education, science, mentorship, tools, and public knowledge. The myth gives an emotionally intelligible image to the responsibility to help others become capable.

Philosophical horizon · Philosophical / speculativeGreat BeingThe project’s name for the larger continuity linking ancestral life, present humanity, and possible future forms of life and consciousness.

It also carries the idea of an ultimate horizon of fulfilled potential.

An individual participates in a process extending beyond one lifetime. This is a philosophical and spiritual interpretation of belonging and responsibility, rather than a claim that a separate supernatural entity has been scientifically established.

Philosophical horizon · Philosophical interpretationMeta-EvolutionThe idea that beings capable of understanding development can increasingly influence the processes shaping their own future.

Education, cultural change, institutional learning, and technological intervention make the conditions of development themselves objects of deliberate improvement.

The recurring question becomes: How can we improve our ability to improve?

Philosophical horizon · Aspirational horizonÜberhumanityThe civilizational horizon associated with Überhumanism: a humanity whose capacities, character, knowledge, and autonomy have developed beyond their present condition.

The emphasis is on cultivating possibilities broadly, rather than merely admiring exceptional individuals after they emerge. The term names an aspiration, not a verified evolutionary endpoint or a single prescribed human type.

Philosophical horizon · Normative commitmentMass AutonomyThe ambition to extend informed self-direction across society through the development of judgment, knowledge, self-command, and practical capability.

Freedom becomes more usable when people can understand choices, resist manipulation, and act on considered purposes. Education and Entelect are proposed contributors to this aim; neither is assumed to possess final authority over someone’s life.

Philosophical horizon · Philosophical idealEudaimonAn ideal of personhood: someone bringing distinctive capacities into meaningful expression while developing virtue and contributing to life with others.

The term gives a human face to the larger project. It describes a developmental ideal, not a completed psychological category, certification, or ranking of human worth.

Philosophical horizon · Speculative cultural horizonPromethaeonThe name used in the mythic narrative for a prospective civilizational renewal organized around knowledge, autonomy, creative striving, and responsible development.

It expresses the historical horizon of Prometheism. Promethaeon names an envisioned era; Prometheon names a proposed festival, defined later.

Eudemic branch · Proposed research programEudemicsThe proposed integrative science of the psychological, social, cultural, institutional, and environmental conditions supporting worthwhile lives and collective development.

It brings relevant research into a shared inquiry: which conditions help people flourish, for whom, through what mechanisms, and with what limitations? Its Coactualist role is to connect fragmented knowledge to the purpose of collective self-actualization.

Aretic branch · Core conceptual branchAreticsThe broad framework for understanding, cultivating, and applying excellence in people, institutions, and systems.

It joins ethical purpose to competence and effective practice.

A school’s commitment to development requires excellent teaching, sound organization, and responsible judgment. Aretics concerns those capacities and practices; Eudemics examines their relationship to flourishing.

Aretic branch · Core inquiryAretologyThe philosophical and empirical inquiry into virtues, abilities, and forms of excellence: what they are, how they relate, how they develop, and how they contribute to worthwhile action.

For a teacher, expertise, patience, integrity, and practical judgment are distinct qualities worth investigating. Aretology clarifies what an institution claims to cultivate before measurement and policy attempt to act on it.

Eudemic branch · Proposed measurement programEudometricsThe measurement and assessment of flourishing and its conditions, including health, agency, purpose, relationships, trust, and fulfillment.

Also found as: Eudometry, Eudemetrics

The accessible manuscripts use these names with overlap. This glossary therefore treats them as closely related measurement vocabulary, rather than declaring an unsupported strict division between the discipline and its indicators.

The guiding question: Are people flourishing?

Aretic branch · Proposed measurement programAretometricsThe assessment of capacities, virtues, competence, integrity, and institutional performance.

Also found as: Aretometry

This can concern people, practices, or systems.

Where Eudometrics asks how lives are going, Aretometrics asks how well relevant capabilities and institutions function. A school might investigate teaching quality alongside students’ actual development. The two forms of assessment inform one another and should not be reduced to one universal score.

Shared infrastructure · Proposed epistemic methodAlethia ProtocolThe proposed method for connecting knowledge to action: gather research, evaluate its quality, compare findings and contexts, investigate causal explanations, formulate interventions, examine results, and revise recommendations.

Its role is to make evidence useful while retaining uncertainty and opportunities for correction. Alethia is a research-and-action method; Entelect is a proposed technological system that could support parts of that method.

Eudemic branch · Interpretive groupingProto-EudemicsThe project’s category for existing work that measures or advances aspects of human development without belonging to a single Coactualist system.

Wellbeing measures, research into strengths, and studies of social trust illustrate the intended scope. The term identifies material that Eudemics would evaluate and integrate; inclusion does not imply that every existing measure is sound or mutually compatible.

Eudemic branch · Developing research lensEudohistoryA working name for studying why periods of exceptional cultural, intellectual, or social development emerged and endured.

Its purpose is to extract useful hypotheses from history for contemporary institutions. Historical association can suggest a line of inquiry; it does not establish that copying an apparent ingredient will reproduce a renaissance.

Applications & working concepts · Developing proposalGolden Age AccelerantThe ambition to use historical understanding, research, institutional design, and cultural investment to increase the likelihood of sustained periods of creativity and achievement.

Eudohistory investigates the patterns; the Golden Age Accelerant names the practical aspiration to act on what is learned. It remains a proposal, not a demonstrated recipe for producing golden ages.

Shared infrastructure · Adapted methodCybernetic FeedbackThe application of feedback to the project’s aims: observe outcomes, compare them with intended purposes, investigate failures, and revise action.

A policy that improves one indicator while damaging people’s lives requires reconsideration. Feedback and cybernetics are inherited ideas; the distinctive Coactualist application directs institutional learning toward human development and flourishing.

Aretic branch · Core political principleAretonomyThe principle that political legitimacy includes a presumptive obligation to improve or replace laws, protocols and institutions when an alternative is sufficiently demonstrated to produce materially better flourishing or developmental outcomes.

Its primary conceptual home is Aretics. It concerns institutional non-stagnation: an established arrangement should not be retained merely through inertia when a superior approach is adequately warranted. Rights, costs, context, feasibility, unintended consequences and uncertainty belong in that judgment.

Eudonomy concerns flourishing-oriented policy direction. Alethia assesses the reliability of the evidence. Aretonomy concerns the duty to act on warranted improvement. Pilots, review dates and sunset clauses are possible implementation tools, not the whole definition. The precise legal triggers, decision authority and appeals remain to be specified.

Aretic branch · Core political principleAretocracyThe proposed model of governance in which authority requires demonstrated competence, integrity, practical judgment, and the ability to contribute to collective flourishing.

It combines broad cultivation of potential with careful evaluation for particular responsibilities. It describes a principle of legitimate leadership; the sources acknowledge that selection, accountability, removal, and constitutional limits still require detailed institutional design.

Aretic branch · Core institutional principleFormative MeritocracyThe principle that society should seriously cultivate people's capacities before relying on their demonstrated performance to allocate opportunities and responsibilities.

Also found as: Positive Meritocracy

Its primary home is Aretocracy, where it accompanies Evaluative Meritocracy. Its major practical cross-link is Eudodidactics: education, health, mentorship, practice, opportunity and continuing development help make later evaluation more defensible.

Discover, develop, support and challenge; then evaluate and entrust relevant responsibilities, with review and renewed opportunity. Broad cultivation does not guarantee equal outcomes or turn a person's worth into a selection score.

Aretic branch · Core institutional principleEvaluative MeritocracyThe assessment and recognition of demonstrated knowledge, virtue, skill and performance for particular responsibilities.

Also found as: Performative Meritocracy, Negative Meritocracy

Also called Negative Meritocracy; Performative Meritocracy is an alternative label. Criteria should fit the responsibility: excellence in one domain does not automatically establish competence in another.

“Negative” identifies the evaluative or selective side of the pairing, not a commitment to punishment.

Applications & working concepts · Proposed applicationCultural AretocracyThe cultural expression of Aretocracy: honors, exemplars, stories, practices, and celebrations that give prestige to worthwhile achievement, integrity, craftsmanship, and contribution.

Its significance is motivational. What a society admires helps shape what people aspire to become. This is a cultural application of the framework, not an independently completed system for ranking culture.

Applications & working concepts · Earlier institutional proposalAscendancy SystemAn early organizing name for the pairing of formative and evaluative meritocracy.

Society helps people ascend in capability; individuals then advance into responsibilities and recognition through demonstrated merit.

The established conceptual work is carried by those two forms of meritocracy. “Ascendancy System” is best retained as a historical or explanatory label rather than a third, separate mechanism.

Eudemic branch · Core applicationEudodidacticsThe educational approach that makes lifelong human development its purpose.

Knowledge, character, emotional maturity, physical development, creativity, practical skill, and civic participation belong within its scope.

It asks what this particular person needs in order to develop, while preserving serious standards of learning. Its institutional expression is described as the Total Human Development Model.

Eudemic branch · Core applicationEudonomicsThe approach to economics that evaluates production, distribution, work, incentives, and technological change by the lives they enable.

Also found as: Euodonomics

Prosperity should expand opportunities for security, learning, meaningful activity, relationships, and contribution. Eudonomics supplies the economic purpose and perspective; specific policies still require analysis of feasibility, incentives, costs, and results.

Applications & working concepts · Consolidated implementation termAretonomicsThe practical design and operation of economic arrangements serving flourishing.

Its practical role is to connect economic purpose with excellent design and operation. It remains subordinate to the question of what economic arrangements enable people and communities to become.

This glossary adopts that narrower relationship for clarity: Eudonomics identifies the economic aim; Aretonomics concerns the excellent design and operation of arrangements serving it. This is a consolidation of the sources, not evidence that their historical usage was uniform.

Eudemic branch · Core applicationEutopicsThe Coactualist study and practice of designing, maintaining and improving environments that support flourishing, agency and development.

Also found as: Eudotopics, Euotopics

Eutopics brings architecture, planning, interiors, landscape, infrastructure and civic beauty into a common concern for human development. It distinguishes essential protections, contextual guidance and cultural expression. Affordability, accessibility, maintenance and displacement belong alongside aesthetics.

The proposed Eutopic Flourishing Index and Aesthetic Impact Quotient require development and validation. Suggested forms and population thresholds are not universal laws.

Eudemic branch · Core applicationTechno-EudemicsThe design, evaluation, and use of technology in service of flourishing.

The question is what a technology helps its users become and do.

An AI learning tool, for example, should be evaluated through its contribution to understanding and capability. Entelect is a proposed application of Techno-Eudemics; the field is broader than that particular product.

Applications & working concepts · Exploratory applicationDepathologizationA proposed application concerned with preventable psychological suffering, harmful patterns of social behavior, and institutions that amplify destructive conduct.

Its developmental focus is on healthier conditions, relationships, and incentives. The approach distinguishes impairment and harm from mere nonconformity. It is an exploratory social-design agenda, not a demonstrated model of mental health or a settled diagnostic system.

Applications & working concepts · Exploratory applicationAretic JusticeAn application proposed within Coactualism: apply empirical inquiry and the pursuit of excellence to policing, crime prevention, rehabilitation, and related institutions.

Its practical question is whether a policy actually improves safety, reduces repeat harm, and serves the framework’s ethical purposes. The label identifies a proposed field of application; it does not supply a complete Coactualist legal code.

Shared infrastructure · Proposed technological infrastructureEntelectThe proposed distributed, AI-enabled intelligence infrastructure connecting evidence, institutional improvement and human development across Coactualism.

Also found as: Entelekt, Optimus, OptimUs

Its Social Intelligence domain supports the evaluation of outcomes, evidence, causes and institutional choices. Human Development Intelligence supports assessment, learning, mentorship, developmental pathways and opportunity. Meta Intelligence and Oversight examines reliability and consequences across both.

These functions operate across persons, organizations and society. Assessment is not a life plan; a recommendation is not a right to govern. Entelect and Alethia support the whole framework. The complete Entelect infrastructure remains a project to develop and evaluate.

Shared infrastructure · Research proposalSuper-PsychometricThe proposed assessment approach at Entelect’s individual level: compare and combine useful insights from personality, strengths, interests, abilities, motivation, and other relevant assessments.

The intention is a richer and more useful understanding of a person. Aggregating tests alone cannot establish accuracy; the proposal depends on checking validity, overlap, limitations, and developmental usefulness. A profile should guide further understanding rather than become a permanent verdict.
